Gregory Scott Burr
Greg Burr was born in London, Ontario, and then moved and grew up in Oakville, Ontario. After attending Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo University, and the University of Western Ontario, he started teaching school. While living in Stratford, Ontario, and teaching in a Mennonite community, he produced the first watercolour series on the Mennonites in Perth County.
He then moved to British Columbia, and attended Emily Carr School of Art & Design. He subsequently continued his art, concentrating on acrylics / water portraits, and scenes of Vancouver.
His most recent exhibition is called ‘Life in Trees’, which culminated in a plein air summer 2010 art tour of Southern BC. Done with palette knives and acrylic paint on hard board, these paintings represent a continuing journey of learning and enjoying the process of art, while illustrating the variety of trees and scenery that British Columbia has to offer.
